As a Social Media Assistant, you will play a crucial supporting role within the social media team, collaborating closely with the Social Media Manager and Marketing Strategist to bring creative content ideas to life. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, self-motivated, and passionate about social media.

You’ll have a dynamic work environment, balancing remote tasks – such as editing together content – with in-person responsibilities, including travelling to client locations for filming and on-site content creation. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, the ability to manage multiple projects, and a passion for engaging online audiences.

  • Content Creation: Assist in creating engaging and visually appealing content for various social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and more.
  • Community Engagement: Monitor comments, messages, and mentions across social media accounts and respond in line with brand voice and guidelines.
  • Research & Trend Monitoring: Keep up to date with the latest social media trends and industry news to suggest new ideas for content and engagement.
  • Collaboration: Work with internal teams and clients to ensure timely delivery of assets and information for social media campaigns.
  • Travel: Capture content on location for clients, attend events, and engage with businesses and community groups as required. Travel will be an essential part of the role to ensure on-the-ground social media coverage.
  • Scheduling & Posting: Support the Social Media Manager in scheduling posts across platforms using social media management tools.
  • Administrative Support: Assist the Social Media Manager with organisational tasks such as maintaining content calendars, coordinating approvals, and managing assets.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Provide additional support as needed for social media campaigns, events, and promotions.

Are you a natural creative? We are not looking for someone with experience; we are looking for someone eager to learn and grow in the industry! This is a rare opportunity on the North West Coast of Tasmania, and we are willing to train someone from scratch in this role.  

Desired Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok etc) 
  • Creative mindset with the ability to brainstorm new ideas 
  • Detail-orientated and organised 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and clients 
  • Knowledge of basic graphic design or video editing tools (Canva, CapCut, InShot, etc) 
  • Driver’s Licence and own vehicle are required, with expenses reimbursed.
